Come meet Diane Deeming, the newest local literary sensation who recently traded in her city life for a sea change on the Mornington Peninsula—complete with sunny views and maybe a few seagull shenanigans. After 17 years of hard graft, she has finally rolled out her debut novel, All Her Own. When she's not writing, Diane enjoys hitting the golf course with her husband Ron, and apparently, they also dabble in a bit of music. Who knew a couple of lovebirds could juggle so many talents?
All Her Own takes you back to the harrowing days of London during the bombings of 1944, where a young lass named Mary falls head over heels for a charming bloke named Charlie. Together, they navigate the rubble and ruin to stitch together a new life, complete with their darling baby girl. It's a tale of love, resilience, and perhaps dodging the odd bomb. Just remember, entry is free, but you'll need to book your spot—don't want to miss out on the witty banter and chance to meet Diane up close.
Join us at Mornington Library on November 8th from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, right on Vancouver Street. It's bound to be a good time, and who knows, you might even pick up a few tips on how to balance writing with the occasional golf swing.
