Kids workshop: First Nations knowledge and crafting with plants

Kids aged 6 to 12 can tag along with Aunty Sammy Trist of the Taungwurrung for a laidback dive into First Nations culture and local plants. They will wander the Unfolding exhibition, doodle in the Yanggurdi Walkabout colouring book, string up necklaces from gumnuts and water reeds, and hear stories about native plants and their role in First Nations life. Expect some mess but plenty of fun, as long as the kids do not treat the gumnuts like cricket balls.

It costs 20 dollars with all materials sorted, though spots fill up quicker than a kid spotting craft supplies. Book ahead. On Wednesday 7 January 2026 from 10 am to 11:30 am at MPRG, Civic Reserve, Dunns Road, Mornington 3930.
