Kids Workshop: Resonant Stick-ology listening to Country

Kids between 8 and 17 can get hands on with tin cans, sticks of varying lengths, string and basic tools to whip up their own journey recording instrument, basically a fancy way to tune into sounds, stories and Country. For twenty bucks, which covers everything, they will mess around under the guidance of artist Dominic White, who brings some First Nations informed smarts to the mix, blending a bit of culture, art gazing and general tinkering.

Expect to pick up tricks like making string from scratch, tying knots that actually hold, and using hammers and drills without drama, all while wandering, chatting and listening like pros to how everyday stuff carries memories and connections. It is happening on Wednesday 14 January 2026 from 10 am to noon at MPRG, Civic Reserve, Dunns Road, Mornington, 3931.
