Theres a book launch for The Next Wave, all about the open water swimming and dipping crowd who think a chilly sea plunge beats a heated pool any day. Its an easygoing afternoon to swap stories of the good times, the grit needed to keep paddling, and those peculiar bonds that only saltwater can create.

Its free but bookings are essential unless you fancy standing in the carpark pondering the waves. Saturday 9 May 2026 from 2.30 pm to 3.30 pm at Frankston Arts Centre Function Centre, 27 to 37 Davey Street, Frankston 3199, Australia.
