The Mount Martha Annual Diamond Swim, or MMAD for short, is firing up again on Australia Day 2026, with options for everyone from tiny nippers to those mad enough for the 5km endurance slog that vanishes quicker than your New Years resolutions. Pick your poison with the 200m nipper jaunt, 400m novice paddle, 1.2km classic, or that beastly 5km, and theres a fresh all ages wave in the 1.2km so you can splash around with the kids, mates, or whoever without the hassle of splitting up.

Brenton Ford from Effortless Swimming will be on deck sharing his wisdom on training without turning into a prune, set in Mount Marthas famously clear waters which are basically begging for a long weekend dip. Itll run from 8am to noon at the Mount Martha Life Saving Club on 148 Esplanade, with entry fees between 40 and 80 bucks depending on your distance.
