Two strangers met on a beach during Melbourne's 2020 lockdown and somehow thought "hey, let's get sixty more people to join us for a freezing dawn swim while howling like wolves." That's how the Mt Martha Sea Wolves were born. Now they've turned their ridiculous, wonderful ritual into a show called . Five characters walk you through the whole thing: waking up way too early, trudging to the shore, stripping down to your togs (which takes real commitment when it's cold), holding hands so nobody chickens out, letting out a group howl, and then plunging into the icy water together. It's part theatre, part original songs, and entirely based on real people who decided that the best way to survive a pandemic was to act like a pack of marine mammals.
The show runs twice on Thursday, 9 July 2026, at Cube 37 in Frankston. You can catch the 1pm or the 7.30pm session. Tickets are thirty bucks full price, or twenty if you grab a MobTix deal. No hard sell here, just letting you know that if the idea of watching people howl then dive into winter water sounds like a good way to spend an hour, it's on.
