Lose to Win by Belvoir St Theatre tells the real-life tale of Mandela Mathia, who took the long way round from a war-torn home in South Sudan, via Egypt, before landing on an Australian stage. As a kid he bolted, spent years wandering and wondering what next, and now delivers the whole saga himself in a solo show thats equal parts heartfelt and hopeful. Its a nod to the South Sudanese crowd here, grit in general, and dreaming big enough to make it happen.

Happening Saturday 16 May 2026 from 8pm to 9:10pm at Frankston Arts Centre Theatre on 27 to 37 Davey Street in Frankston 3199. Tickets run full A reserve at 61 bucks B at 50, concession A 54 B 44, full time students A 31 B 26, and under 30s at 30.
