Join artist Sarah Hankinson for a still life drawing workshop that's basically an excuse to poke around the MPRG's Winter exhibition, Helen Britton: The Story So Far, while making your own marks on paper. You'll work from observation, fiddling with line, texture, tone and mark-making through a series of guided exercises, and we'll supply all the drawing gear so you don't have to remember anything except yourself.

Here's the twist: bring along a special object to add to the still life arrangement. It could be a sentimental teaspoon, a weird rock you found on holiday, or that plastic pineapple you refuse to throw out. Drawing personal stuff helps uncover stories and memories hiding inside everyday things, which sounds deep but is actually just a good way to spend a morning. Spaces are limited to 12 children, so booking is essential. Cost is $20 plus a booking fee. Parents or guardians need to stick around for the whole ninety minutes, sorry, no drop-offs.
